The defrost timer (Item 342 in Section 9) looks like it is behind the kick plate.

Thanks. It appears the defrost timer is cycling. I need help accessing defrost heater and thermometer. Bottom freezer has sliding door. Do I need to remove slider mounting brackets by removing recessed screws? The cover plate where heater and thermometer is looks simple, just 4 sheet metal screws.

Test procedure for heater and thermometer would be appreciated.
