Model Number: csx22d Brand: Hotpoint Age: More than 10 years
Hotpoint csx22d. Freezer turned all the way up (COLDEST) reads (10-28F) fridge turned all the way down just before shutting off reads (31-32F). NO electrical schematic anywhere on unit so I don't know what to jumper out or measure to rule out any problem. I need freezer to drop in temp. If I adjust the fridge temp control to a colder setting, it will get colder in the freezer but it will also get colder in the fridge ie ( adjusting fridge setting to 3 [1-9] will lower freezer temp to 2F but will also lower fridge temp to 27-28F. Freezer door seals appear to seal well.
Is this problem unique? Related Models Last edited by Maddyrosedad : 02-12-2009 at 03:29 PM. Reason: more info |

Remove the front bottom grille and the cover on the back of the fridge. Clean the condenser coil (under the fridge) and make sure the fan motor next to the compressor does run.
Here are the break down diagrams for the Hotpoint refrigerator Model CSX22DHB Gene.

thanks for the diagrams I found those too. I was looking for an electrical schematic. the coils are clean and the fan does run, wouldn't those conditiions make the unit run warm. If I turn the thermostat to a colder setting everthing does get colder even the fridge section and thats already at 32F.

How did you adjust the temperature? Did you use both controls or just one? If just one - which one?
Gene.

Try to use the instructions from one of our previous posts: Freezer is fine, refrigerator is too warm. (last page).
Gene.
