Model Number: HSS25GFPJWW Brand: Hotpoint Age: 1 - 5 years
My refridgerator is making a whining noise in the freezer part and sounds like it is surging. I unplug it and it stops this noise for several minutes then after some time it starts up again. Does anyone have any ideas. Thanks

Hi Ronald
The only part in the freezer which can make such noise is an evaporator fan. You have to remove the rear panel in the freezer and check the fan and the blade. Post your findings, please. Good luck. Gene.

My refrigerator is a hotpoint and the freezer is on the side, how do I replace the motor, I removed 2 screws that are facing forwards but the cover willl not come off. Do I have to remove the ice maker and what kind of a job is that. Thanks

The panel you have to remove is in the lower part inside the freezer.
Before you replace the motor make sure this is the problem. - The part number for the evaporator fan motor AP3191003 Gene.
