My monogram fridge has control board, inverter and compressor. The compressor does not run, and I suspect the control board, but the inverter is not available. How likely is the inverter to be defective?
I used an automotive VOM with RPM FUNCTION. When I measure the "signal" from the control board to the inverter, I see 4.25 volts DC and 4.5 volts AC, but frequency (RPM) on my multimeter jumps around like crazy from 9.9 Hz to 25 Hz. Signal seems to be plenty strong enough for my meter. I do suspect the varying pulse width would make the measurement pretty inaccurate.
