Model Number: sts221cmarww Brand: GE Age: More than 10 years
I can not find my schematics. Pls help!
Also some advise on problem. The refrigerator stopped cooling. The freezer still freezes. The coils in the back wall of freezer are completely frozen over. Someone said it could be defrost timer. But I have found out since that this model does not have a defrost timer. It is controlled by the control board. Any suggestions? Sounds like there is a problem with the defrost system.
Unplug unit from power. Locate the main control board on the back of the refrigerator. Remove the wire from the J9 (defrost heater) terminal and measure the resistance between this wire and the neutral (orange) wire at the J7 connector (pin 9). If the reading is about 22 Ohms, replace the main control board and the thermistor on top of the evaporator coils. If the reading is incorrect, remove the rear panel inside the freezer and check for continuity the defrost heater (#618 on the diagram) and the defrost thermostat (#620). - The main control board Part number: AP4436216 - The thermistor Part number: AP3185407 - The defrost heater Part number: AP2639820 - The defrost thermostat Part number: AP3884317 Here are the breakdown diagrams and Replacement parts for General Electric STS22ICMARWW Refrigerator | AppliancePartsPros.com Gene.

Is there a reason someone would cut the defrost thermostat? There is also a blue wire connected to the right side of coils that has been cut. Any ideas?
