Have a Kitchen Aid KSRG25FKWH03 refrigerator/freezer. The ice maker has stopped working. I have removed the unit and replaced. I have checked the LED light operation on the door. Seems the ice maker itself might be bad. Although unit is on, it does not have water in it at this point. Any suggestions?

Lui,

You could still have a bad I/R sensor system, but try this first,
** you'll need a 2 or 3 inch length of wire with the insulation stripped off both ends **

Turn the power off the the refrigerator, or disconnect the dispenser harness at the freezer door top hinge.
Tape the freezer door switch and the I/R flapper down, (so the control thinks the door is closed).
Remove the front cover panel from the ice maker and find the openings labeled "T" and "H" in the front of the module panel under the cover( usually in the right hand corner of the module) Re apply power to the fridge and insert the 2 bare ends of the wire in the openings and hold it there until the large front gear starts to rotate, then remove the wire and the icemaker should advance through a complete cycle in a couple of minutes, if the I/R sensor system is OK.

Let us know what happens, so we can assist you further.

:) :) :)
