I have a LG LRFD22850TT french door refrigerator. I am trying to get rid of an annoying whirring noise that is caused by ice build up on evaporator fan. I am following advice to replace the control board for the refrigerator and also the evaporator fan. My question is does anyone have any experience removing the back plastic freezer panel to access the fan?

TIA

Here is an LG manual, not for your specific problem but perhaps it will be help

If it is ice on the fan blades which is causing the whirring then I would look at a defrost problem before replacing the board and fan.

Above applies if the ice buildup is causing the fan blade to go out of balance.
