Model Number: PHS67EH5B2 Brand: Frigidaire Age: 1 - 5 years
The evaporator fan is not working in my frig. Tech told me I needed replace computer board as well as fan because 99.8% of the time this motor goes out due to a malfunctioning computer board sending to much current to the fan and burning it out. Although I believe this could be possible I don't believe the 99.8% of the time part. The tech did not even check the amount of current at the fan. Is he full of crap or fact? Please help.

I would pull the evaporator fan motor, verify it has 115 volts stamped on it, and plug it into 115 volts. If it fails to run, replace it, AP4700070.
The servicer is incorrect, impossible for control board to send a voltage higher than 115 volts!
