Model Number: ED22DQ Brand: Whirlpool Age: More than 10 years
Hi, the fridge and freezer are working fine. The ice maker is working fine and the water in the door is running fine.
However, ice/frost is forming on the exit chute for the icemaker. The buildup is at the base of the ice storage bin in the freezer where the cubes are cycled out of the bin to the chute in the door. This buildup also makes the freezer door bind on the ice when you open it. Is there something I need a pro to fix or could I fix this? Thank you, thank you - it's driving me nuts. Sounds like the seal cover for the ice chute (located indoor) is not closing properly (where the ice falls through the hole). Open door& look with flashlight to see if seal is good… may need a simple adjustmentor if plastic is broken you may need a repair kit that is complex to repair… hopethis helps… Mike's Appliance Repair www.Mikes-Appliance.com |

thank you so much.
That makes sense that the seal cover is not closing tightly. I just cleaned the cover well in case it wasn't closely b/c it was dirty. should I also adjust it? I checked inside and the cover is not broken and it appears to be shutting. |
