Model Number: F45ZR24JW1 Brand: Frigidaire Age: 5 - 10 years
I need some technical advice on replacement parts being interchangable. My side by side came with a simple relay switch that a capasitor plugs into then the entire unit plugs into the compressor. We know that the relay is bad and the capasitor is still good. We couldn't find an exact part in stock in town, so a local repair place looked at our part and said "here, this will do the same thing". We bought it, but it's ten times more complicated and we don't really believe it will work. Can someone help us figure out if the kit he sold us will work the same as the all in one relay we removed?

Just remove the capacitor and replace with the Whirlpool parts and use the instruction sheet that came with the new part. It may require a little bit of reworking. Or take that back and use the original or a Part Details - SEA Relay :ctr05, part number: RO41

Nat,
The directions on the Whirlpool parts are asking for three wires and our fridge only has the red and blue wires, no white. We've tried using the directions minus the white wire and the compressor keeps making cycling sounds, but does not cool. So, we wondered if our fridge model requires the use of a capacitor. |
