-I purchased a new ice maker in March along with a new water inlet valve kit. Upon receipt the ice maker worked perfect (we were so excited)for about the first month, but over the past 2 wks it has stopped making ice. I have tried disconnnecting, empting, and replacing it twice. The first time it actually cycled about 3 trays of ice before stopping again. This last time it filled up with water and still hasn't cycled (1 1/2 weeks). Any suggestions?

JC,

A model number will be a great help, we'd be more efficient and exact,in assisting you.

If you have an "in door" ice bucket, dispenser assembly, or a red light and panel on the right side freezer wall, you may have a weak, intermittent infra red sensor system.

A model number off the serial plate in the refrigerator compartment, will be a great help.

Thanks,
:) :) :)

JC,

Thanks for the model number, yes your fridge has an "indoor" dispenser
and infra red sensor.

Here's a quick check :
Check and make sure the ice bucket is 1/2 full or less, and snap locked in place on the door. Also check and make sure the sensor system is turned ON(panel and light on the rigt side wall of the freezer.
Close the freezer door for at least 1 minute.
Open the freezer door and observe the LED light on the right side panel,
A) No light at all, you'd have a bad sensor system or the ice maker is in a harvest mode.
B) Light flashes twice then a pause and flashes twice againThe receiver board is not seeing the beam or faulty optics control.

*** Press in on the optics flapper door (left wall of freezer) ***
A) Still has the 2 flashes and pause, Bad optics control.
B) LED light is on solid, optics are working proper.

This test is not 100%, especially with an intermittent problem, you may need to test several times.

If you should need or decide to replace the optic sensor system,
Here's the part information,

Part number: AP3137510
Part number: AP3137510

Good Luck,
:) :) :)
