Default Refrigerator not cold
Model Number: GS5SHAXNT00   Brand: Whirlpool   Age: 1 - 5 years

Returning problem.. About every 3months refrigerator stops working... refrigerator temp go up. After being unplugged for a day, works another couple months. There is no ice build up in the freezer.... ran diag on system .. all passed. Air flow to refrigerator compartment has decreased, evaporator fan works. Not sure what to check next. Any suggestions?

Hi bx610

I need you to describe as much as possible what is going on when it "stops".

Gene.

When it fails, pull the freezer back cover off and check coils for heavy frost. If ok, verify both freezer and back condensing fan are working.
If ok, remove control pc board at the back of the unit and check for a loose solder connection at the relays.
