Question Defrost timer
Model Number: Model 1889-4   Brand: -other-   Age: More than 10 years   

I have a Montgomery Ward refrigerator and the defrost cycle is not working. I am trying to find the location of the defrost timer to fix or replace. However, I cannot find the location of it. Can you help? thanks

The model number you posted is incomplete or incorrect. In order to provide the most accurate advise I need the complete model number of your fridge.

I just fixed mine and I put in the thermostat and timer and what it needed was the defrost heaters. It isn't hard. You need to take off the panel in the freezer behind the shelves. The first link has the pictures. To see the defrost heaters there are two metal panels you need to take off and look at the heaters.
