I have a 10 year old KitchenAid icemaker. There is no external water or icemaker. One day I lightly banged something into the wire arm. I put the arm back a few days later, checking connection many times, and it has not worked since. I unscrewed the unit from the freezer wall, and see four wires going into the unit, and a chute coming out of the back freezer wall. I guess no water is coming out of the chute. How does all this work? How does the icemaker signal the chute to release water? Did a hose fall behind the fridge or is a sensor damaged?
thank you,
