My Kitchen Aide icemaker model number KUIS155HLS2 makes ice for a few cycles then stops. I get it to work by turning it off or unpluging it.
When it stops working there isn't any water in reservoir and it sounds like the pump is still working. I changed the thermistor, electronic control board and cleaned no help. Last night it made about ten cycles before it quit.

Did you check for a proper water supply to the fill valve or the fill valve ?

You need a constant, 1 gallon per minute water flow to the unit. Otherwise, based on your post, the fill valve is the next step.
