The icemaker on my refrigerator (GE Monogram Model# ZFSB26DRESS) makes ice, but it no longer dispenses it (neither cubed or crushed ice). On the front panel I can select between water, cubed ice, crushed ice (as well as the other sections) and the green lights illuminate, but ice does not dispense, not do I hear the auger motor turning. Also when I select ice and push the lever in to dispense it I notice that the light dims too. Water however does dispense. While troubleshooting, I removed the front panel and disconnented the ice dispenser solenoid, selected ice and could get the auger motor to turn. How is the ice dispenser solenoid connected with the auger motor? Perhaps I just have a defected ice dispensor solenoid? If so, what would cause this to go bad?
