My Kitchenaid refer coils freeze up every few months (19 weeks to the day this time). I defrosted them again and ran a diagnostic that I found folded up in the back of the grill along the floor. Diagnostic #6 tests the defrost cycle and after a few minutes the back panel of the freezer got warm and water was dripping in the tray beneath the unit. The defroster does not appear to be running long enough and according to the owner's manual is not adjustable. Could the bimetal sensor be cutting out too soon and causing this?

Sounds like the problem is a bad control board (#6 on the diagram), especially because the problem is intermittent. - The control board Part number: AP3713826
