Last weekend I was doing some work in my kitchen and had to pull the refrigerator away from the wall. Unfortunately, during the course of this work I damaged the water inlet tubing that feeds water into the refrigerator. I had to cut the end off the tubing due to the damage, and I believed that I could simply go to the hardware store and get a new compression fitting for the tube and a converter to 1/4" tubing, which would allow me to reconnect the water line to the fridge.

Unfortunately, the tubing that is used on the refrigerator is not any standard size. It appears to have an outside diameter of 3/8" but its inside diameter is too large to be used with standard 3/8" QuickFit connectors or compression fittings.

My refrigerator is a JennAir Model #: JCD2290HES.

JennAir hasn't been very helpful in tracking this down. I've called them 3 times and sent them a few emails with the photos below. At first they denied the part existed and accused me of attaching it to the refrigerator after purchasing it. Then they blamed the distributor for attaching it after assembly. I sent them some pictures from the owner's manual for the fridge that clearly shows the part, and after that they acknowledged that it existed. However, they still won't sell it individually. They only offer to sell me the entire filter assembly. Very frustrating.

I've put two photos of the fitting down below. The white tubing feeds into the refrigerator's filter through the back of the fridge. The brass fitting is the mystery part. It seems to have a compression fitting to the white tubing on one side and be crimped to the standard 1/4" threaded fitting that will accept a compression fitting to my 1/4" copper tubing.

If anyone has any ideas how to order this part I'd really appreciate it.
