I have a Whirlpool upright freezer with a noisy fan. The fan (and motor)was replaced only a year ago. Is this quick reappearance of the problem just crappy parts or is there something else I should look for? Freezer seems to be cold enough, though there are recent indications it's getting warmer (ice cream softer).

Check for a defrost problem, the noise maybe the blades hitting ice.

Ken also check the fan blades it self, sometimes the fan moves backwards on the motor shaft. This problem can be solved by inserting a plastic tub (spacer) between the blades and motor.
