I have an Amana Side by Side Refrigerator and the mullion strip is getting very hot because the condenser fan isn't kicking on by itself. If I tap the back of the refrigerator where the fan is located it will start up and run appropriately but when done running it, once again, it will not start up on it's own.
I have vacuumed all areas underneath and behind the unit, as well as made sure there were no obstructions interfering with the blades. Does this sound like a motor problem or a controller board problem.

The condenser fan motor is the culprit. No doubt about it. It has to be replaced ASAP and it's better to turn the refrigerator off until it's done because such overheating can damage the compressor. - The condenser fan motor Part number: AP3120994

Many thanks Gene! It was in fact the condenser motor fan. I ordered the part, it arrived in 2 days and I had the old motor out and the new one in after only about 45 minutes and everything seems to be working wonderfully.
Thanks again! Mike N.

You are welcome Mike. I'm glad you were able to fix it.
