Refrigerator & Freezer Repair

I have replaced the defrost timer as everything in the freezer side was over freezing but since I have replaced on the light will come on nothing else I have even turned the timer but nothing, will it be expensive to repair?

My Kenmore side by side was having a problem freezing up in the freezer side so I checked on line and it seemed the right solution was to replace the defrost timer which I did, when I went to install the new one nothing happened the light comes on in the fridge but I can't hear anything else happening I even left it overnight and still it does not get cold nor the freezer part. What could now be the problem????
