If I manually fill with water it make the ice and dispenses. However it will never refill with water. I removed the back and found the tube going up to it and it is clear. At the bottom of the fridge there is a valve with a purple/white connector and a black/white connector. Also has a tube that I believe goes to the water filter. I removed left tube from this valve and pushed water dispenser and water shot out of it. So I removed right side which connects to tube going to ice maker and also swapped the cable pairs. Again by pushing water dispenser water came out right side. So to me the valve appears to be working correctly it just seems to be whatever tells it to let water into the ice maker. That sound right? If so does, does that mean I need to change the whole ice maker? Thanks for any help you can give.

On the valve there is also a white tube on the top of it. What is the purpose of this tube?
