The defrost thermostat in my fridge has failed (physically & electrically) and I need to find a replacement. The fridge is a European version of a WhiteWestinghouse US fridge, but because of that the model number isn't listed anywhere.

Here are a couple of pictures of the faulty thermostat. Can anyone suggest a suitable replacement ? This is a mains voltage thermostat (rather than a low voltage one as some seem to be).
The Squares in the photo are 5mm (approx 1/5")

Get the actual part number off the thermostat and try searching for it as a part number on this site.

If that does not work.
List the number
List all info from the thermostat, this may help find an appropriate replacement for you re: on/off temps etc.
What type of connectors are on the end of the thermostat and how long are the wires OR will you have to cut the wires and splice in the new one?

Many thanks for that idea, eventually found the part number on **** - which gave an alternative part number which I found on a competitor parts web site. Just got to work out how to get them to ship to the UK now !

Probably does not let your link show up because they may have banned it as a competitor. Cannot really blame them since they pay to run this site.

If the UK shipping becomes a real hassle I would pull the thermostat and take it to a good appliance parts supply house. If you get an experienced person behind the desk, they will likely be able to supply a suitable replacement just by looking at it.
