Model ZIS42NYB built-in side-by-side GE Refrigerator
Replaced water control valve on bottom of unit to cure icemaker dripping issue. Solved dripping issue but cracked the nut on the fill valve and needed to replace the copper tube and associated hardware because it developed a small drip at the cracked nut.
While waiting for parts I put a small pan under the valve to catch the dripping water. Unfortunately I went on a business trip and the pan filled up (the wires are connected to the valve near the bottom) and now the valve stopped working.
Tried replacing the valve again, hoping it was the valve that shorted, but the new valve won't work either.
I've run the ice maker through it's cycle a dozen times by turning the motor counterclockwise but the valve won't open.
Everything else on the refigerator works fine.
What should I check and do now?
