After detecting an electrical wire burning type odor in the kitchen, we noticed that no ice, cubed or crushed was dispensed. All other functions of the ice maker and water dispenser work properly. When the selector switch is slid to the cubed setting, there is a sound from the ice bin as if the ice is about to be dispensed, but nothing happens. When in the crushed setting, no sound is detected and nothing happens when the actuator is depressed.

I am ready to replace the solinoid assembly: Sears part number WR62X0078, but would first like to know whether that is what is needs to be done. I am wondering if the module time delay: Sears part number WR55X0129 could be the problem, or is it something else? I cannot troubleshoot, but I can replace parts!

Any help is appreciated.

Remove the ice bin. Remove the wires from the auger motor. With the freezer door open and the door switch depressed, push the ice cube release and check for 120VAC between the motor wires.

If there is 120VAC then the motor has gone bad.

If there is no 120VAC then the control board (module time delay) has to be replaced.

- WR55X0129 part number for the control board is APP part number AP2071638

The model number you posted does not come up and I'm not able to find the right part number for the auger motor.

Thanks so much Gene!

The correct model number for the refrigerator is 363.9554720, not 363.9554710. But that number doesn't pull up the refrigerator either!

Sears Part No. WR60X0202 - Motor Crusher Disp. Is this the auger motor you refer to? Sears Part No. WR02X4854 - Drive Auger Dispenser is the U-shaped metal fitting which connects to the motor crusher drive shaft, so I believe it is the auger motor.
