Model Number: SB195BSBB Brand: Samsung Age: 5 - 10 years
I have a five and a half year old Samsung bottom mount freezer which does the following:
The temp is configured to -4 and once the temp reaches this - a hour or so later the temp starts to increase back up and will get into the 20's. I can leave the frig unplugged for a bit and plug it back up, then it starts cooling again. I had a pro come out and look at it this morning, he found the heater in the freezer was loaded with ice. He recommends replacing thermostat and heater (he didnt even check the thermostat with his multimeter). He said usually both go bad together? I don't think this is righT? Is it? I've decided to replace one or the other, or both myself. What should my plan be? Do I need to check the thermostat with a multimeter to either rule it or the heater out?
