Master-Bilt DC-12D Condenser Fan Motor
Model Number: DC-12D Brand: -other- Age: 5 - 10 years
Hello -
I just purchased a used storage freezer for an ice cream business. It seems to cool and cycle fine, but the condenser fan make a horrible wobbling noise. I took the grill off, and you can see the fan periodically wobble, as if it were an out of balanace tire on a car.
I unplugged it, and inspecting the fan/motor, there seems to be excessive shaft end play in the motor, which is causing this noise/vibration. I located the part # for the fan motor, and it looks reasonable, but I have no idea how to get everything out of there to replace it.
It seems like the fan/compressor/etc. is all mounted on a tray that somehow slides out from under the cabinet, but I'd rather do it correctly, and not force it, and end up kinking a tube, or worse yet, springing a leak.
Any advice?
Oh, and Master-Bilt says that this particular model uses what's called a Semi-hermetic compressor. Not sure what the difference or advantage is, but this is the largest model in this line that Master-Bilt makes.
Thanks!
Jack
