Default Fridge inop,Freezer inop
Model Number: ED2FTGXKQ00   Brand: Whirlpool   Age: 1 - 5 years   

Just this Satarday it just stopped cooling.I defrosted it today figuring that may be a problem,Also vacumed all the coils under the unit.Plugged it in this evening and still no cooling.Air is being blown in through the freezer ducts but it is just ambiant temp air.Any suggestions.Fridge side also inop

Verify if the compressor is running and the small copper line is hot if not no compressor running check relay before replacing compressor
also check condensor fan is running had problem with past models

Compressor not running and lines are cold.Where is that relay located?Also how do you check it?Compressor also hot to the touch but all lines are cold.Fan is running constantly.

unplug the machine and relay is on the left side of the comp pull it off slowly it will be resistance then look for burnt spots or shake it if it rattles good its bad replace relay

Pulled the relay.No visible burn spots.But it does rattle alot and small metal particles fall out of it on the plug side.Iam going to get one in the morning.Thanks for all your help.I will let you know how I make out tomorrow

Replaced the relay and its now up and running,Thanks jdappl07 you were a great help.If you ever need and car help you can find me here at either of these sites under the same user name as here.
