Hi,
A while back, my icemaker put out a pool of ice in the ice cube tray rather than cubes...basically it looked like my valve was open and filled the tray which froze. There was a bit of ice connecting the tray to the maker as well. Since then, it hasn't produced any ice. I can pour water into it and have ice cubes kicked out but the fill isn't working. I tried defrosting the entire unit by turning it off. The water to the fridge section worked but still no ice. Now the water is frozen as well.

as a side note, the fridge freezes many things on the top shelf and were actually told by a sears repairman that this was normal...no longer under warranty now though...

The water fill line now occasionally rattles pretty good and seems like its trying to fill something...either water reservoir or icemaker. Can anyone please tell me if there is a way to check the fill valve with a multimeter or other diagnostic before I replace a possibly still functioning part?

Any other suggestions would be welcome as well, please...thanks!!!
