I just purchased a 10 cubic feet Magic Chef refrigerator. I unpacked it and untaped the doors but the doors will not open. DH tried and still the doors will NOT open!

Sorry but I do not know what DH is.

Also a model number may help.

This will sound like a stupid question but does the door have a lock?

Do you think that it has been taped closed for so long that the door seal has adhered to the units face frame?
If the unit does not have a drain hole it could be that it was taped up when the ambient temperature was not and now that it is cooler the air in the unit is acting as a partial vacuum holding the door closed.

Perhaps try running a putty knife between the seal and the frame working your way around the seal. I would lubricate the putty knife with vegetable oil so that it slides easier as you do not want to cut into the seal.
