i am a GE authorized company and there is a recall on that model if your serial is between ZG2-AL2 This recall intails a new main board and a evaporator motor which will fix your problem

Was thanked: 2 time(s) in 2 post(s)
Your failing evaporator motor blew out the mother board. You can blame GE for this, they designed it this way. Just order a new board available by clicking on your model #.

Sorry this doesnot fall under the warrtanty by one year or you could call GE to verify not under recall but it does need a control board

Hi jdapp, I know this is a really old thread, but where can I find the information on this recall? I have this same refrigerator with serial number th238495. It has been a huge money sink. Things keep breaking one after another. If it were under recall that would be so great. Thanks
