Hi there,
Well i just joined this forum and also did a search but came up with no results...so if this has already been posted before i do apologize.
Anyway's this is my parents s/s fridge and i'm trying to fix it for them.
Basically the motor that pushes the ice out of the icemaker quit working. I looked up on the Kenmore website and found that it has a solenoid and i'm guessing that is what probably went out? However in order to check the motor and solenoid i'm guessing i need to pull the entire unit ouf of the freezer portion of the fridge...
But i have been unsuccessful at finding any information to remove this unit? So i am wondering how difficult this is to remove? If it was mine, i'd just taking it apart and see what happens, lol. But i know my father especially would freak out if i told him i was just guessing...lol.
So are there any removal schematics to doing this??
Do i need to disconnect power first to the entire fridge?
Thank you for any and all information that you may have for me!!!!
Ps.....also i have just found the parts on a site called "searspartsdirect" on the net. If there are any other places that might be a little bit better on prices please let me know! ***( $56 for a solenoid seems pretty steep, or is that normal pricing for this kind of stuff? )
