When the freezer stopped working the technitian replaced the overload relay and the freezer started working again. However, he said it was a temporary relay because they had to order the new replacement part. A week later they installed the new part and the freezer quit working again. When I called the owner said the compressor was probably at fault because the first replacement (temporary) was "stronger" but the factory they got them from wouldn't allow them to leave the temporary relay in perminently because "it would damage the whole system". He said if the factory found out they were installing them perminently they would not sell to them. He said he could send the tech out and replace the new part with the temporary, or I could replace the comprssor ($800) or he could send a new referigerator out. He may be right about the temporary part, but it sounds a little like BS. So, is he correct about the temporary, "stronger" overload relay?
