Refrigerator stops running every few days
Model Number: ET8MTKXKQ00 Brand: Whirlpool Age: 5 - 10 years
My Refrigerator stops running every few days to a week or more. I can restart it manually by turning the dial off and on which will start the compressor again until the next event. I have changed out the following parts to no avail:
Bimetal defrost Part number: AP3108454 Cntrl-elec Part number: AP3853127 I really like this model which has worked well in the past but I do not know how to proceed with this somewhat intermittent problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Ads By Google Related Models

Sounds like you have a bad thermostat. If you can reset it, by turning off then on, the thermostat is bad. Here is a link to the part, as well as a link to the parts diagram page. Hope this helps. Part number: AP3084361
