Model Number: TFH22PR Brand: GE Age: More than 10 years
Greetings,
I have a GE Profile side by side refrigerator that is about 15 years old. 4 years ago I was forced to take a job out of the state so, I left the fridge full of gallon jugs of water and frozen food and left. (I've heard it's very hard on a fridge to leave it empty while running.) I came back one year later and discovered the freezer had a 4" layer of frost/ice on the back of it and both the freezer and fridge was about 60 degrees. It appeard the freezer section had frozen and warmed multiple times. At that point I completly emptied the fridge of the now ruined food, unplugged it and let it thaw out. That was three years ago and it's been unplugged ever since. I was able to get a new job and now have moved back home. My question to the group is this fridge even worth fixing? It has not run in 3 years and even if I can fix it could I count on it staying that way? I've read that it's bad for a fridge to sit for long periods of time because the seals in the compressor will dry out or something along those lines. Any thoughts? Ads By Google Related Models |

Here are your parts, you seem to be missing a few letters of the model number.
Replacement parts for TFH22PR models | AppliancePartsPros.com Plug it in and give it a try after all you have nothing to loose, If it runs and cools down then you can look into your original problem. It sounds like the unit had/has a defrost problem and that should not be that expensive to repair.
