Ice Maker Stopped Working. Water From Door Still Opperates Properly (not Slow). Water Is Flowing To Fridge Properly. How Can I Test The Water Valve. I Read That I Should Swap The Electrical Connectors To Try Process Of Ellimination. But That Can't Be Done Completely As The Male Spades On One Side Of The Valve Are Larger Than The Other Side ,not Allowing A Swapped Connection. Any Ideas ??

What you will need to do is unplug the connector for the icemaker valve, and use a multi-meter to check for voltage when you cycle the icemaker. To cycle the icemaker, remove the cover and look for two holes, one labled T and the other H. With an insulated jumper wire, you need to jump from T and H and watch the wheel turn. Once the wheel has moved a 1/4 turn remove the wire and go watch your meter. It will only supply voltage for a few seconds, so keep you eye on it. If you get voltage then the icemaker is fine, and you have a bad water valve. If no voltage, then you have a bad icemaker. I'm going to attach the part numbers, as well as a part diagram link for you. Hope this helps.

The following has been forwarded to Jeff from wrexpert.
"Hi Jeff, It has been a few months since my freezer stopped producing ice and you replied to my question about diagnosing the problem. Well, I finally had a chance to actually try the diagnostic procedure that you recommended to me. I unplugged the connector from the ice maker side of the water valve, hooked my multi-meter up to the connector and jumped the ice maker from "T" to "H". The wheel did not turn and there was only a very minimal change in voltage. I plugged the connector back on to the water valve and tried jumping the ice maker using a few different holes to see what would happen. One of the combinations actually got the water valve to pump water up to the ice maker. But I don't know if that was "cheating", or if that was an indicator of anything at all. Thank you for your help. I hope to hear from you again soon. My wife wants me to fix her ice maker already. As you know, It's been quite a while. " Thanks, Wrexpert
