refrigerator making loud revving engine noise and now feels warm in refrigerator part

Hello,
The other night my refrigerator(just 10 years old) starting making a loud noise- it revved up higher and higher- I was afraid it would blow! Then it stopped... it did this probably 3 times since. My husband pulled it out and vacumned. Now the refrigerator part feels warm even though thermostat is on 6. Freezer is still frozen. Whats up?  tallulah Ads By Google Related Models
