We recently moved our refrig/freezer unit to another house where it worked fine... until we began refinishing the hardwood floors in the other part of the house. We did not turn it off as we should have. Eventually it stopped getting cold. We figured-out after taking off the back panel that it was filthy with wood dust. We vacuumed it out, plugged it back in and it worked great... but just several hours. The light is still on and the fan seems to be working, however neither the freezer or refrig will get cold. Please help.

Which fan seems running, the one by the compressor and in the freezer? Is the compressor on at all?

Thanks for your super quick reply. The fan in the freezer is working, but the air coming out is not cold. I don't think the compressor is on. Does that mean I need a new one, or?

When you vaccuumed it out did you hit the box? It may have knocked the start device or a wire loose. Check those.

If we did hit the box, would it still have then worked for for several hours? How can I locate the start device and how would I go about restarting it?

At the back of the fridge, there is a square access cover at the top left, take that off. In there is the main control board. Take the board off and look at the back of it, there is probably a burn mark on the board, if so you can resolder the connection, or you will need to replace it...Part# WR55x10656

The start device is on the compressor, check the board first...
