Hello ,
My name is Chuck and I live in Tacoma Washington and I ave a problem with my admiral freezer. If I dont keep the thermostate in the refrigerator up to the nomber 6 or higher the freezer will defrost Could it be a bad thermostate??

Yes if everything else runs OK then I would also say that the most likely culprit would be the thermostat (Item 3 in Section 2)
