my GE has the control panel on the outside of the freezer door. while it is sitting there, it will not display the current temp in the fridge or freezer, but when you press the +/- buttons it will light up for a second and show the new set temp, and then go dim immediately. I cannot get ice or water from the unit, but the ice maker works just fine. Light on dispenser will not come on - bulb is good. When I press the cube / crush / water buttons, the indicator light will come on while I press the button, then go off immediately.

I thought it was the dispenser switch, but the temp indicator display would not be related to that.

Unit is cooling ok in both compartments. and water filter was changed a month ago.
