I have a Whirlpool fridge that isn't cooling. It is not a problem with the defrost cycle as there is no ice build up. I did not hear a clicking noise but the compressor was warm to the touch.
Searching the internet led me to believe it was the relay/overload switch so I ordered the kit here. After install I'm now hearing the compressor trying to start and then after about 10 sec I hear a click as I guess the overload kicks in.
Is there anything else I should try or is the compressor bad?
Thanks in advance for your help!

Hi Gene,
I tested the compressor as described and it did not have a short. When I was connecting the new relay i connected the two wires the same way as the old one which was one piece (relay and overload switch in a box). On a hunch I switched the wires and the refrigerator is working perfectly.
AppliancePartsPros.com is awesome ... great prices, fast shipping, and excellent service. I will never purchase another appliance part anywhere else!
Thanks for your help, -Marc

You are welcome Marc,
I'm glad the compressor is still good and you were able to fix it.
Gene.
