fridge /freezer warmed up/found run cap. un-hooked

Model Number: 363.9550614 Brand: Kenmore Age: More than 10 years

My Kenmore sided by side warmed up to the point of the ice maker totally thawing today. I messed with the temp control and unit came back on but stayed at about 49 degrees .A few minutes ago I pulled out fridge and pulled back cardboard panel off .Immediately noticed that the harmess that plugs onto the (run) capicitor was cocked sideways and one connector was off--(don't know why) Would this stop the compressor from cooling??

Test the compressor as described in one of our previous threads: GE refrigerator just clicks but does not cool and post the results.
