C3Dan,

If you move the fridge away from the wall,

Remove the vented panel at the bottom of the back wall,

You'll most likely find, that the condenser fan motor is barely turning, if at all.

Or the condenser coil is blocked with debris, or even both are a possibility.

I would have been happy to supply apossible part number for the fan, but the model number you supplied is incorrect.

Good Luck,

Default Thanks

Thank you. I will try that and see what I find. I found another blog that said the defroster is in the door seals and may not be turning off.

C3dan,

I think you mis understood the blog,

Without the model number I'm not sure,

In most side by side fridges, the condenser heat tube, yoder loop or post condenser loop, is routed down the front mullion strip(panel between the compartments).

The condenser & loop system serves two purposes:

To transfer/dissipate the heat from the sealed system, into the room.

the heat from the yoder loop system, is used to transfer heat to the mullion strip, to eliminate moisture and condensation from the strip between the compartments.

If the condenser coil is blocked with debris, or the fan doesn't run properly, it does not transfer properly.

The first place you, the consumer, will notice it, is the mullion strip or gaskets.

I'm sure you'll be fine once you clean the coils, and get a fan motor that runs properly.

I checked the Model # and it was correct. ?. Anyway I pulled the frig out and took off the bottom panel. The fan was turning fine. The coils were completely blocked. I blew off all the coils with a air hose. It was packed in there like cotton. Now I am waiting to see if it takes care of the problem. Here is the Mod # again 51552101 mfg date 2001-06 serial # SL2235337

C3dan,

Great,

Glad the fan motor's OK.

Remember, it's going to be really warm(low 100's dgrs), but not HOT,

and you'll find, if you clean that condenser coil and the area under and around the refrigerator at least once a year, your fridge will be more efficient, and last you a long time.

Good Luck,

Door seals still seam hot were they meet the center divider between the frig and freezer. Is this normal?

C3dan,

Did you see the previous post ?

The mullion strip will be warm/hot, it does transfer the warmth to the seals, keeps them soft and sealing proper.

I don't think you have a problem, I'm honestly surprrised, you didn't mention any food spoilage, or temperature problems on the inside of the unit, based on how clogged up you made it sound.

Temp control seems to be fine. Milk is good and cold. Ice cubes are fine. Only thing I ever noticed was the seal being warm. i check it a few times a day, and sometimes I will it notice the seals cooler. Thanks again for your help.

C3dan,

Sounds great,

we're pretty sure you'll be OK, from here on out.
