i believe this is a well known problem--defrost run-off freezes at upper end of drain tube, and in a matter of days ice stops evaporator fan.
i'm told it's a defect in lining of fridge. i've tried passing copper wires warmed by defrost heater into that area...still waiting to see if it works. any other fixes? any bulletins from GE on this?
I'm tempted to cut access to the drain tube from the rear of the fridge--just a 1" section would be adequate to keep the tube warm.
anyone have specific experience with this model?
thanks, dave
