To check defrost heater
Model Number: frs24wsgw1 Brand: Frigidaire Age: 5 - 10 years
My question is to check the defrost heater can it be done using a contiuity light? This being done with the power off and touching the two plug ends with the light! Also how do you check the thermosat?

Sure, just need to know if it has contuinity or not, check the thermostat the same way, if you are referring to the defrost termination thermostat be sure it is cold, if it is warm it will check bad even if it is good...
