The temp alarm buzzer goes off intermittingly. Red light is on buzzer is on. The alarm button does not turn it off. Disconnect the power & battery & everything returns to normal. A couple of days later it starts over again. Freezer temp is normal. Anyone have a fix for this? thanks

JWK,

Start by checking the door light switch, and wiring,

Part number: 216822900
Part number: 216822900

Then the actual door liner/door assembly for proper fit and seal.

The switch could be sticking , or not being activated by the door, and in short, telling the control the door is open, or the light is on,and it's getting warm inside causing the buzzer to activate.

Good Luck,

:) :) :)

I checked the switch & door seal to no avail. Any other ideas?

JW,

It's not going to be the easy, obvious repair ...

We need to eliminate a couple of components, as possible problems,
(the thermistor and the defrost thermostat and heater).

Do you have a multimeter, so we can check circuits and resistances ?

You'll have to remove the evaporator cover(backwall) to access both components.

The thermistor is the 2 wires with a plasic tip, mounted to the wall,

The resistance(s) should be:
10,000 ohms at room temperature (77 dgrs F)and 32,500 ohms at freezing(32dgrs F).

The defrost thermostat, should be a closed circuit(infinite resistance/000) below 50 dgrs. and an open circuit(no resistance/0) anywhere above 50 dgrs.(you should probably check that circuit several times).

You also need to check for any loose connections at the heater and control box.

If you have the correct resistance readings, on all the checks, you'll need a new electronic control board.
