Model Number: KSSC48QMS02 Brand: Kitchen Aid Age: 1 - 5 years
Hello,
I have a KitchenAid Model # KSSC48QMS02 Serial # QT4217076. The temperature display board blinks on and off when the door is open. There is also a beeping noise that will happen occasionally. I shut off the unit using the on/off button on the display panel and then the main switch behind the decorative panel. Once I turned the main switch back on the unit powered back on with out me pressing the power button on the display panel. When I press the power button on the display panel the refrigerator appears to shut off but then come back on. The lights, ice maker / dispenser function properly. The temperature of the refrigerator compartment fluctuates. It will rise up into the 40's and them cool back down to it's set temperature of 38, but it seems to not be able to hold the temp constant regardless of the doors remaining closed for a long period of time. The freezer temperature appears to held properly. I removed the display panel circuit board (2302913) and visually inspected it. I can see nothing wrong with it. From reading around, it appears that my issue is due to a control board, however I'm not sure which one. In looking at a service manual, there appear to be two boards; a main control board (part # ?????) and a meat pan power supply board (2259350). I saw another thread where a user said to replace the meat pan power supply board for someone who had similar behavior. Is that what I need to replace too? Any tips to figure out which board I need to replace? Thanks for your help, Hanlrb Ads By Google Related Models Last edited by hanlrb : 12-26-2010 at 02:35 PM. |

Okay, so I ended up removing the main control board. When I visually inspected it, it appeared that one of the capacitors on the board was blown. I couldn't find my meter to test it so I just went to radio shack and bought a new one. The cap is the 220uF 35V cap. There is only one on the board. I removed the old cap and soldered the new one on. I plugged the board back in and powered the refrigerator up and everything appears to be working correctly now. The display works properly, the beeping noise is gone and the temperature is now regulating correctly. From researching around this appears to be somewhat of a common issue so hopefully this will be helpful to someone else who encounters the same problem.
