Model Number: ET1WTKXKQ02 Brand: Whirlpool Age: 5 - 10 years
This is an 02 Whirlpool top freezer refrigerator which we just got and water is continually collecting in the crisper; only on the left side. It doesn't have a water hookup for an ice maker. On the upper rack on the left side we put some paper towels because we put fresh berries on that rack and each morning the paper towel is soaked. I also noticed inside the housing behind the heat/cold control, that the cover, that can be taken off, appears to have Styrofoam underneath it where there are openings for what I think might be where the cold air comes out into the refrigerator. Any idea what the source of this moisture/water is and how to stop it? Thanks, Lowell

Lowell, A few things to check, and be aware of, before you start removing things. Yes, you are correct, the air diffuser is where the air from the evaporator enters the refrigerator, (center of the celing against the back wall). Make sure there are no large articles blocking, or directing the air in a specific direction, the air needs to drop straight down the back of the wall and across the shelves, to cool properly. Check the door gasket/seal and make sure it is sealing to the front metal flange on all sides(especially the top and left side. Fruits and vegetables, with a high water content, should be in the crisper drawers, and in a sealed container, or plastic bag they came in, a refrigerator can ,does, and will dehydrate certain articles. Do these basic checks, and give it a few days and see what happens, you should also check your temperature, you may be running too cold. ( With an accurate cook's pocket thermometer, insert the probe end into a liquid filled container, pickles, juice, etc.on the center shelf, your product temp should be 35 to 37 degrees, adjust the temperature control knob one setting at a time(wait 24 hours between settings) until the proper temperature is achieved. We will be waiting for your response, in a few days,
