I have a Kenmore model 59669142990 with a bottom freezer. I do not know the actual year of manufacture.
The freezer is working fine with no frost.
The fridge is not getting cold. The damper control appears to be working and is open but no cold air is coming out. Any suggestions?

I removed the back panel in the freezer it was heavily iced up. Defrosted with hair dryer and now the air flow to the fridge is ok.
The freezer heater has continuity so I guess that is ok.
There was what I assume was the defroster thermostat in series with the heater element and it checked as open which I think is right as it was not cold but I guess could still be the problem.
If there is a defrost heater timer I do not know where to look because I cannot find the drawing for this particular model.
Any further help appreciated

Your defrost timer is in the back near the compressor. If you want to see a breakdown use the searspartsdirect website. Part from this site is Timer, def

Your unit is probably freezing great again so freeze the defrost thermostat just to make sure the contacts inside it do close when frozen.

The freezer and fridge are working ok now after defrosting everything. I am going to replace both the timer and defrost heating thermostat to be sure everything is ok
Thanks

It would appear that the timer is at the front of my model below the freezer on the right and in back of the removable "cleaning" grate at the bottom.
I have not taken it apart yet but there is a red "knob" like in the parts picture.
Thanks to all for the replies and to all that had posted in previous threads that put me on the right track.

Yes it is. 52" 50# Muskie caught on light gear.... I actually was trolling for walleye with a medium action rod with 10# test line , small spinner and small leech...no wire leader either.
I know there was no way I would have landed it if it were not for my experience with lighter gear in the Atlantic. Play that drag and pray.
Took 20 minutes to see it and another 25 to land it. I have caught my share of large muskies but was always was geared up for them. This was by far the most fun battle I have ever had except when I lived on the coast of Maine and used to flyfish for Blues and stripers. I plan on trying my luck at flyfishing muskies next year.
Guess this is a bit off topic eh . LOL
