I have had my Maytag MBF2255KEB for only a few years. Never had trouble out of it, in fact I love having the freezer on the bottom I'm disabled and it helps not have to bend down so much. Anyway, recently the top section, the refrigerator, is not cooling as it should. When the damper is open, no cold airflows, no air flows at all. I tried defrosting the whole thing, completely unplugged it and let it completely thaw out and melt all ice in the freezer. The problem seemed fixed for about 2 days, until it was right back to no airflow. The freezer seems to never shut off, and freezes over, blocking the air flow to the damper in the top section frig.

I found and ran the Control board tests. The Freezer Thermistor test is the only one that didn’t come up normal. The test on it came up as “OPEN”
I was told by a friend that I just need to replace the Freezer Thermistor, I got one on order, but want to make sure that this is the right course. I know where the freezer Thermistor is located and how to access it, but have never changed on out.

Am I on the right track here, replacing the Thermistor??
